Import Extras

Before Submitting your design make sure:
  • Did you save your import with a transparent background?
  • Double checked all the marking ranges?
  • Did you use the right colors?
  • Did you fill out all the fields in the import info sheet?
Kalacros Eyes

Kalacros have 3 different eye types for you to choose from already in the import. You are allowed to erase the lines inside and color it to your discretion.

Custom Eyes

You are allowed to draw full custom eyes, if you want to, right from the moment you are designing your kalacros! This comes with only one rule: Do not make the eyes bigger than any of the ones that are already on the import!

Eye Rules
  • The Kalacros' eye is divided into several distinct parts:
  • At the eye's edges, a bit of flesh is present, usually in a pink tone. This part cannot match the eye's overall color, aligning instead with the color rules for the mouth and paw pads.
  • Visibility of the sclera (the white part of the eye in humans) is optional:
    • If present, the sclera can be white or black, with allowances for slight tinting.
    • The sclera's color should not match the Iris or Pupil.
  • The Iris corresponds to the eye color.
  • The Pupil, positioned at the eye's center, is the darkest part and can draw inspiration from mammalian eyes.
  • For a Blind Kalacros design, the pupil can be noticeably lighter than the Iris/Eye Color. However, you don't have to do this should your kalacros be born blind. If you want lighter pupils, however, the kalacros HAS to be blind.

Allowed Eye Types

Heterochromia is also allowed and free to put on any kalacros.

Paw and Claw Design Guide
  • Paw pads can be any natural color (e.g., pink, brown, black, gray), matching the base coat or design markings.
  • Colors must not be highly saturated unless featuring Bioluminescent or Prisma elements. Pastel bases may be an exception, though it's advised to slightly darken or desaturate for safety.
  • By default, paw pads should be the same color across the design. The exception to this is if they're corresponding to a surrounding marking color over the area of the pads. For example, Socks lighter than the base coat could cause lighter pads on the feet, while dark Gloves could create darker pads on the wing hands.
  • Subtle gradients, shine/shading, and slightly darker spots (similar to those around the mouth) are permissible on paw pads.
  • Claws' coloration rules mirror those of paw pads, allowing natural colors and any present in the design.
  • Claws may exhibit shading, lighting effects, and gradients but should avoid excessive saturation or shininess unless impacted by Regal.
  • When Prisma affects claws, the colors should align with those used for Prisma, clearly distinguishing from Regal's influence.
  • Example cases for clarity:
    • Normal pawpad color across the design is ideal.
    • Wing pads lighter to match ears and darker paw pads to match darker Socks is acceptable.
    • Avoid situations where the paw pads do not logically follow the coloration rules set by the design's base or markings, such as lighter pads when Socks are darker than the base.
Prisma Effect Example

A Prisma example. The paw pads and claws can be a very saturated color.

Mouth

  • Mouth Color:
    • Mouth color in Kalacros is not hereditary, offering freedom to choose any color, related to the parents or not.
    • The only restriction is avoiding excessive saturation for the tongue and mouth, unless the Kalacros features Bioluminescent or Prisma attributes.
  • Design Enhancements:
    • Gradients, highlights, and shading can be added to the mouth, adhering to the saturation guidelines.
    • Any spots added must be darker than the underlying flesh.
    • Gums can be made darker than the tongue, enhancing depth and detail.
  • Exceptions:
    • In instances where Mapp or Splash affects the mouth or parts of it, they can introduce lighter areas where they make contact.

Teeth

  • Editing is very limited, with teeth required to stay within a warm color palette (red/orange/yellow).
  • Saturation must not exceed 6, and Brightness should not fall below 89.
  • Adjusting the hue within the warm color range based on the provided slider is acceptable.

Pink Sheen

pinkskin.png

There are two extra layers in the body folder of your kalacros named Optional - Pink Sheen. You can always put this on your kalacros if you want to.

Pink sheen MUST be the same color of the flesh!

Import Halos

As a finishing touch on your Kalacros, you're allowed to put a halo behind them!

Lineart

When designing, you're allowed and more than welcome to color the lineart for your Kalacros! However, keep in mind, the lineart must be darker than and must match what it sits over.

This means that if you have a Bay Kalacros, you cannot have the lineart be purple, and if your Kalacros has markings, the lineart should not all be one color.lineartex.png
