Kalacros have a wide variety of traits. Different ears and tails are the norm in the world of these creatures, making them able to have a wide range of different appearances. When it comes to designing you kalacros, you want to read through these guides to ensure you follow the guidelines for each trait! Some are free in their coloring, some must follow more specific rules.
Traits can be adjusted across different layers to ensure they are all distinctly visible and logically positioned. If a mane obscures part of an ear, it's not sensible to place the ear beneath the mane layer.
You are allowed to modestly reposition ears and horns on the head to prevent overlap with other traits. However, it's crucial to maintain anatomical accuracy. Avoid excessive adjustments that compromise realism. Middle horns must remain centered on the forehead, and other horns should stay in their natural positions, albeit with some leeway for vertical adjustment.
Remember, the goal is to achieve a balance where modifications are subtle and respect the natural anatomy of your Kalacros. Avoid making changes that are too drastic or that disrupt the overall coherence of the design.
Rules
- Tails must always match the base coat, except for Tufts and Crests.
- Basic, Long, and Barbed tails can have Tufts and Crests added freely.
- You can add both a Tuft and Crest to the same Kalacros.
- The fur at the base of the Basic and Long tails can only be colored if a marking sits on top of it; otherwise, it must match the base coat.
- Barb Rules
- The scales and barb at the tip follow the base coat rules but can also be tan, grey, white, or black.
- They can display highlights and/or gradients.
- Manes can be any color derived from the base coat and/or follow marking rules.
- The entire mane should be covered in the case of using 'free fill'.
- Markings that cover portions of the mane are allowed to show.
- You CANNOT simultaneously hide some markings and show others.
- Ears and Cheeks are flexible in design.
- Can match the base coat, normal color allowances, display gradients, and include markings.
- Horns have specific design rules.
- By default, match with Claw Rules.
- Can follow standard color allowances, including accounting for parents.
- Can display a color already present in the design.
- Prisma may affect the Horns, matching the Prisma colors without being mistakable for Regal.
- Natural pink or tan are always allowed for the inner ear.
- Horns can be voluntarily left off the design, but it must be mentioned in the Design Notes at Approvals.
