Koi creates asymmetric patches across the body.

 
 

Rules

  • Patches can be spotty, full of holes, and overlap themselves.
  • A patch on the forehead is mandatory, which may be shaped, have holes, or be split into several shapes, as long as it meets the minimum size requirement.
  • The forehead patch may take a variety of forms, it is not required to be completely round!
    • It may be otherwise naturally shaped, have holes, or be split into several shapes, so long as it meets the smallest size requirement.

Non-Dominant

  • Koi can appear in up to four body sections.
  • Up to three colors can be used, not including the colors chosen for the forehead spot.
  • In dominant form, displays in all sections, with distinctive patches on the feet and tail tip that may have different edges compared to the rest of the marking.

Dominant

  • Koi can show in all body sections.
  • In dominant form, up to four colors are allowed, again not including the colors chosen for the forehead spot.
  • In the dominant form, a "points effect" is permitted! These points must be lighter than the base coat.
